Meet our Team – David Arnow

David became a member of the RBC team in 2022 when he began his career in accounting as an intern in the Audit Department. He previously worked as a General Manager of a restaurant. He is an expecting father of a little girl and can’t be more excited!

He always enjoyed numbers and decided to return to school and pursue a Masters in Accountancy. He now serves as Audit Associate, specializing in financial statement preparation for clients in the construction industry. A determined and charismatic professional, David attributes his success to the support of his wife and parents.

What is your favorite part about working at RBC?

My favorite part about working at RBC is the team. The people I work with every day truly make the job enjoyable. Even when it gets tough before deadlines, we always work together to get the job done. We are stronger together.

What is the one thing, you can’t live without?

The one thing I can’t live without is my wife and my soon-to-be daughter. Only a month or two to go!

What professional accomplishment of yours are you most proud of?

Becoming a General Manager of a restaurant before the age of 30. Before COVID, I was in the restaurant industry, and I was able to accomplish my goal of becoming a General Manager in just three years after becoming a Manager back in 2017.

What would you be doing if you weren’t in Accounting?

If I weren’t in accounting, I would probably be running a restaurant somewhere. The fun answer is that I might be a football analyst or running my own podcast.

What’s something that may surprise people to know about you?

I’m a HUGE Star Trek fan. I’ve watched every show, every movie, know every ship, and every character. My dad was a fan, so we watched it together growing up.

If you could pick one person to be your mentor (living or dead, fictional or real), who would you choose?

My Dad. He passed away a couple of years ago, but for the 28 years I knew him, he was the smartest man I ever met. In terms of his accomplishments, he held a PhD, two Masters degrees, and a Bachelor’s degree. He was fluent in multiple languages and could passably speak even more. As a person, he was patient, caring, hardworking, dedicated, and loyal. He provided comfort and wisdom whenever I needed it. He embodied everything I want to be in my life.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?

The ability to travel anywhere in the universe at any rate of speed. I look up at the stars and wish I could fly around out there.
